Chimene & Eric | Boreham House wedding

Chimene and Eric’s wedding at the ever-impressive Boreham House was first in a triple-header of weddings I was due to shoot, back in the balmy days of 2019’s late August bank holiday. Despite some dicey weather earlier in the month, this particular weekend proved to be an absolute scorcher, with clear blue skies from sunrise through to sunset.

I joined Chimene and her bridal party at Boreham House, upstairs in their enviable bridal suite. I knew things would be very organised and run very smoothly, given Chimene’s job as a Project Manager, and I was proved right as she and the girls had a very relaxed, unrushed lead-up to the ceremony. As the girls got ready, I got a few snaps of the bride’s amazing wedding outfit, which comprised Jimmy Choo sandals and Pronovias separates, including two skirts to change into – one for biz, and one for the party! Chimene looked like a freaking goddess in her Pronovias outfit, and I really loved her unique take on the traditional wedding dress. I’d like more bridal separates in future, please!

Eric and wedding guests had a few cheeky pre-wedding sherberts at a pub over the road from Boreham House, and when the time came everyone poured up Boreham’s famous driveway and into the ceremony room. Given how flipping hot it was, everyone did really well to pack into the ceremony room to hear the vows, along with a reading from Chimene’s sister too.

Once the formalities were over, everyone spilled out onto the lawns at the back of Boreham House, and there we stayed for the rest of the day, as the weather afforded everyone the opportunity to party under the sun until late. Chimene and Eric kindly humoured me with a quick drive down to the front gates of the venue, to grab the last few minutes of golden hour for some photos, just before the sun went down. I think you’ll agree, it was totally worth it!

I was so blown away by these two, they are the kindest, most fun people you could ever hope to meet – and also possibly the tallest, too. Us photographers receive varying treatment at weddings, and though me and my second shooter hoped to blend into the background during the day, we were frequently checked in with to see if we were OK, if we needed anything, if everything was good. What a couple of bloody legends. Here’s the story of their day:
