Chanelle + Shaun | The Reid Rooms

I had to check the calendar a couple of times when Chanelle and Shaun’s wedding kicked off my 2019 wedding season, as although we were in February, it felt much more like summer! The sun was shining all day over at The Reid Rooms, where Chanelle and Shaun were having their wedding ceremony and reception, and it was so mild, despite us technically still in winter, they had their reception drinks outside!

I was super chuffed when Chanelle and Shaun asked me to photograph their wedding; this wasn’t the first time I’d come across them, as I’d previously photographed Shaun’s mum’s wedding back in 2016 at Houchins, and that has always been one of my faves! (You can view that wedding HERE)

At that time, Chanelle was pregnant with Harley, their little boy, and it was lovely meeting the 4th member of their little family. Harley was page boy today, along with Enya as flower girl, and both were very giddy as Chanelle got ready at the venue, whilst Shaun steadied the nerves with a drink or two with the gents before arriving. Harley had been up since 5.00am with excitement, and it all got a bit too much as the poor little love passed out asleep just before the ceremony was due to commence (to be fair to Harley, I get it, you really want to be awake and fresh for the party later, I understand).

In the dazzling sunshine, Chanelle, her dad and her bridesmaids made their way to the ceremony, which proved to be an emotional affair. Once everyone had stopped crying, the ceremony was completed and the all the guests enjoyed some drinks in the surprising warmth of the February afternoon.

After a few snaps, some confetti and a casual dove release (as you do), we headed inside for dinner and speeches. Chanelle’s dad had looked incredibly proud all day long and his speech reflected the same, closely followed by the groom who spoke eloquently about Chanelle and the family he and his bride had made together. Rolling on to Aaron’s best man speech, with all the hallmarks of a classic, not least the slightly risque jokes and general savagery towards the groom.

Finally, the speeches were rounded off with a very observant and humorous speech by Enya, who did a brilliant job of delivering in front of a room full of people!

It was so great seeing so many familiar faces during Chanelle and Shaun’s wedding at The Reid Rooms, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Below is a selection of shots from their day, so scroll down and enjoy!
