Charlotta + Mitesh | Two Weddings!

Yes, you read that correctly, these guys had two wedding days, and I shall explain. But before we go any further, I’m going to get something out of the way, and mention this once and once only: it rained. It rained a lot. On both days. In August. It was torrential on both days. Torrential rain on two days in August. I mean, what are the chances? I know no-one pictures rain on their wedding day, let alone twice, so it was incredibly bad weather luck. But Charlotta and Mitesh were superstars, and that will be the last mention of the weather, as I now tell you how amazing their two days were:

Their first day was back at the beginning of August at Bhaktivedanta Manor, a well-known Hare Krishna temple near Watford. The temple itself is a beaut tudor-style building which was famously donated by George Harrison back in the day, and a great location for Charlotta and Mitesh’s traditional Hindu ceremony. As we gathered for the ceremony, it became clear that the groom and his entourage of gents were running a little late for the ceremony, as they were stuck in a little traffic on the M25. Fast forward around two hours, and Mitesh scampered into the temple to get changed (!) and the ceremony was soon underway, incorporating all the traditional elements including the 12 rituals and a final blessing. I loved seeing the intricacies of the ceremony and, as it was my first one, I felt a learnt a little something! (Don’t worry I was taking photos too.)

Once Charlotta and Mitesh had received their final blessing, we took a few moments out in the gardens to steal a few photographs as the early evening darkness descended. You can check out a selection of the photographs from that day below – but do continue to read on to the end of the page, as I’ll show you their second wedding day at Marks Hall in Coggeshall! ⇣
